G.723.1 Dual rate Speech Vocoder Software (G.723.1 Speech/ Audio Codec Software)
Floreat G.723.1 speech vocoder software implements the ITU-T G.723.1 recommendation. The G.723.1 audio codec software performs dual compression and decompression of 8 KHz voice signals at 5.3 and 6.3 Kbps; the speech quality is better for the higher bit rate. The input/output of the G.723.1 speech codec algorithm is 16-bit linear PCM samples, the audio codec process signals with 30 ms frames and have a 7.5 ms look-ahead and the G.723.1 speech vocoder passes less distortion while passing through DTMF tones as compared to other ITU-T codecs close to G.723.1 codec compression rates. The G.723.1 is one of the recommended audio compression techniques in multimedia applications specified by ITU-T H.32x recommendations.
