T.30 Group 3 Fax Protocol Software
The T.30 is a portion of the ITU-T Group 3 fax standard that specifies the procedures and protocols for fax transmission. It determines how fax devices in the public switched telephone network (PSTN) exchange information about their supported characteristics and manage the fax session.
Floreat’s T.30 implements the five separate and consecutive phases in a facsimile transmission that are described in the T.30 standard:
A) Call-establishment which initiates the handshake for the sending and receiving machines to connect and recognize each other as fax instruments
B) Pre-message procedure which allows the answering machine to identify itself and its capabilities
C) Message transmission with two phases one for synchronization, line monitoring and problem detection and the second for datatransmission
D) Post-message procedure that begins after the page is transmitted and allows the sender to send more pages with a Multi-Page Signal
E) Call release where the machine that transmitted last sends a hang-up message and does so without waiting for a response. Floreat’s fax modem protocols are modular, re-locatable and re-entrant to support multi-channel capability. This protocol software can operate within a multi-tasking environment or as a single task and it is supported on various DSPs and processors as well as offered in fixed and floating point C. Floreat’s Fax Modem protocols can be integrated with Floreat’s otherdata modem, telephony, speech compression, VoIP, FoIP, imaging and video software for various applications.
Floreat supports its embedded software on the following DSPs, Controllers and Processors:
