T.4 Image Format Protocol Software
T.4 is that portion of the ITU-T Group 3 facsimile standard which specifies how image data is to be formatted and encoding/decoding performed for facsimile transmission and reception of black and white as well as color documents. It thus controls the description of the image and provides interfaces for printing and scanning routines. This includes sizing, resolution, and compression-decompression procedures for images.
Floreat’s T.4 contains the MH (Modified Huffman) run-length coding-decoding schemes. Additionally, Floreat’s T.4 standard implements Progressive bi-level image compression and has options for transmission of color or gray-scale with Continuous-tone color and Gray-scale modes.
Floreat’s fax modem protocols are modular, re-locatable and re-entrant to support multi-channel capability. This protocol software can operate within a multi-tasking environment or as a single task and it is supported on various DSPs and processors as well as offered in fixed and floating point C.
Floreat’s Fax Modem protocols can be integrated with Floreat’s other data modem, telephony, speech compression, VoIP, FoIP, imaging and video software for various applications

Floreat’s FloFax Software
Floreat’s FloFax includes all the fax modulation standards that are listed as requirements for the Group 3 Facsimile. This includes the following:
1) V.21 (300bps) recommendation which uses FSK (Frequency Shift Keying), in which different frequencies represent binary data. V.21 speeds are used to exchange initial capabilities of two fax machines but not to send the fax image
2) V.27ter (2400 and 4800 bps) which uses DPSK (Differential Phase-Shift Keying) in which phase differences are used to encode bits
3) V.29 (9600 bps with fallback of 7200 bps) that incorporates QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation), amplitude modulation with phase shifts, and is used to transmit image data
4) V.17 (14400 bps with fall-back to 12000 bps, 9600 bps, 7200 bps), which uses TCM (Trellis Coding Modulation) that enhances reliability and supports high speeds so that this modulation scheme is used to transfer images
5) V.34 (33600 bps), which uses TCM constellations, echo-canceling and line-probing to achieve the high speeds that make it suitable for color fax transmission
