FloFax V.27ter and V.21ch.2 Fax SoftModem (V.27ter Fax Modem Software)

Floreat’s V.27ter software fax modem implements the ITU-T V.27ter recommendation. It supports data rates of 4.8 Kbps with automatic fall back to slower connection rate of 2.4 Kbps so that it can still connect over noisy lines. The V27ter fax modem can be combined with other fall back fax modems V21ch2 to support uncompressed image transfer at lower speed. The V.27ter and V.21Ch.2 fax SoftModem may be combined with the FloFax V.29, V.17 and V.34 data pumps to support higher rates of image transfers.

The FloFax fax modem software is modular, re-locatable and reentrant to support multi-channel capability. The FloFax V.27ter can operate within a multi-tasking environment or as single task. The V.27ter and V.21ch.2 fax modem software is supported on various DSPs and processors as well as offered in fixed and floating point C.

Floreat’s V.27ter and V.21ch.2 fax modem Software support most of the commercial analog front ends (AFE) as well as various discrete DAAs with codecs. The modem software also supports the digital environment such as T1/ E1 interfaces.

It supports both analog and digital interfaces. An analog front end (AFE) would consist of a codec and DAA and the digital interface could be T1/E1 or ISDN.

Floreat’s V.27ter and V.21ch.2 fax modem software can be controlled with Floreat’s T.30 fax protocol, which in turn may be controlled by the T.32 Class 2.0 commands or with Floreat’s T.31 Class 1 Commands. Class 1 and Class 2.0 Command Sets are extensions the ‘Hayes Modem Command Set’ and are EIA/TIA standards for the interface between computers and fax modems. The main difference between them pertains to the implementation of the protocols in software versus firmware.

The V. 27ter and V.21ch.2 fax modem software can be integrated with Floreat’s other data modem, telephony, speech compression, VoIP, FoIP, DSVD, imaging and video software for various applications.
